I think to enjoy TOS you have to put on your 1960’s goggles and remember it wasn’t really considered sexist at the time. The line “I just can’t get used to a woman on the bridge” from The Cage may be considered unacceptable today but not then. Also most shows from that time were campy af. Remember Batman?

Considering the small budget NBC gave them to work with they got a lot of show out of it.

Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic are some of the only ways to gauge opinion of the masses but yes both have their problems. But with the lack of alternative we have to make do. I did say in the post that they are also open to review bombing but they still rather accurately reflect the opinion you often see from fans online with the newer shows in the bottom half of the list with Discovery plumb last.

I hope the writers get what they want. The problem is that the strikes are actually saving the studios money so it won’t be soon.

Good. There’s a reason that almost all sport is separated into men’s and woman’s leagues. Men have a massive physical advantage over women in a lot of sports and it is fundamentally unfair for women to have to compete with men.

Some train their whole life only to have a major victory denied because a man decided to compete in a woman’s category.

If they can’t/won’t compete with other men then trans people should have their own league.

This is exactly why it’s my favourite. It was clearly made because TV at the time was such a low resolution it didn’t have to look good.

I thought it was fun but borrowed a little too much from Buffy’s Once More With Feeling. The whole, the songs are making us spill out feelings. Although the bunny reference was a nice touch.

I’d argue that Far Beyond the Stars and In The Pale Moonlight sit alongside The Visitor for best Trek ever. BOBW is good but doesn’t break my top 10. I much prefer Family over BOBW.

That’s definitely one of Voyagers best. Although sadly Voyager didn’t get a whole bunch of stand out episodes.

I don’t count Threshold as a stand out Star Trek episode.

Threshold is peak TV in general and it’s unfair to every other show to compare them to the absolute masterpiece that is Threshold.
