E.g. it’s the main link/image/text entry that other people can comment on that’s added to a community. A microblog is like a “tweet” but added to a particular magazine (aka community) So, for example, the all homepage of kbin social is all threads. But if you want to just generally throw out something to a community unrelated to any article/thread you do it as a microblog.
