I like the sabotage but when this was announced I 100% assumed it was an attempt to boost engagement numbers as they approach their IPO, and looks like it's working for that.

I sure hope people who are interested in the IPO are smart enough to look into what is driving the engagement, as opposed to just looking at numbers.

It's a total cash in - 'no publicity is bad publicity'.

That said it will be interesting to see how engaged people are with the idea this year. I think users probably just wanted a bit of normal time
