tl;dr Books, most likely generated by an LLM, were being sold on Amazon under Jane Friedman’s name. The same books were added to her Goodreads profile. Amazon initially refused to remove the books. If it’s happening to her, it’s definitely happening to other authors.
When most people discuss perpetual copyrights, they’re usually its at least somewhat hyperbolic....
Not sure I like the "Netflix of books" suggestion(libraries exist!), but I thought this was interesting.
Some of these look really interesting! Definitely want to check out Silver Nitrate since I’ve enjoyed her work in the past. Anything catch your eye?

I’m not saying that all self-help is bad. There’s always been an audience for short and snappy self-improvement books (there’s a reason why there are only 7 Habits, not 70), and that’s just fine. But I do worry about a larger phenomenon that I’ll call the bulletpointification of books and media....
