I thought the kids were fine, Texas had just deported the parents and kept the kids.

According to the article, they aren’t deporting asylum seekers.

Despite the criminal trespass arrests, the state legal trouble doesn’t bar these separated families from continuing their asylum process under federal law, Etter says.

“It’s essentially a very harsh and cruel detour in the asylum process, but one that is not an obstacle because our clients have been able to request asylum and many of our clients have been released back into the country and are able to then reunite with their families at some point,” Etter said.

I thought the "Again?" and "kids they lost last time?" were in reference to immigration under the Trump regime.
When they were separating kids from parents, the whole "Kids in Cages" story arc.

I don’t know what they meant. The policy now is not the same as it was when Trump was in office.
