@arstechnica Define better, I did not really like any of the options. For example, several of the situations were about social norms. The fundamental issue is not whether someone was harmed, it is of property rights. If you are in a foreign country, you follow their rules and norms and you have every right to expect the same of foreigners living and working in your own country.
@arstechnica The problem with the way microsoft is doing it is that they have an exclusivity agreement with qualcomm. This prevents them from supporting Mediatek, Rockchip, Allwinner, Tegra and Raspberry Pi based devices that compose the broader arm ecosystem.
@arstechnica The problem with this is that no one can possibly compete with north korea since in the DPRK all business is owned by the state so the state uses its power to artificially suppress the cost of labor.
@rbreich Greedflation is a myth. In a fiat currency system the amount of dollars in circulation is inversely proportional to the purchasing power of each individual dollar. Even though the percentage of inflation is down that only measures how fast dollars are being added to circulation, not how much dollars total are in circulation. Money is subject to the law of supply and demand just like everything else, so the real reason things are more expensive now is that the dollar simply is worth less than it was in the past.
@arstechnica Remember that the Zilog ez80 is also an 8 bit chip with 16 megabytes of address space and a clock speed of up to 50 megahertz, although because of its triple pipeline the programmer can take advantage of up to 150 megahertz of logical clockspeed if you use SRAM running at 50 megahertz.
@arstechnica I think the design looks cool, I will see whether or not it is worth an upgrade. I am running out of storage space. I hope for the use of the ARM Immortalis G720 along with Arm Cortex a520, a720 and X4 cores.
@rbreich I would suggest calling it trick economics. Get the government out of the economy, and that means no corporations sucking off the government tit.
@arstechnica Considering how batteries degrade over time and how electric cars are more expensive and less durable I would prefer a plug in hybrid or pure internal combustion car without smart features over a electric car. Read the book Fossil Future by Alex Epstien.
Remember when RFK Jr. seemed like a real contender against Biden? Now, it seems like Trump and his team are worried about RFK Jr.'s appeal to their voting base. With RFK Jr. potentially siphoning off votes from Trump, the dynamics of the 2024 election are shifting. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/rfk-trump-biden-election-spoiler
@georgetakei I think trump should nominate RFK Jr as his running mate if he wants a better shot at winning. I simply cannot afford another biden presidency nor can my family. I would vote for either Donald Trump, Vivik Ramaswamy or RFK Jr, I am not particularly picky and any of those three options would be better than Biden.
