Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying. šŸ™‚

A fair point.

Personally, I use ā€˜savingsā€™ as a catch-all for any form of money you have no intention of spending frivolously. Be that in savings, stocks, or other forms of investment.

Iā€™ve got a relative who saw anything beyond the 6 month mark as spending money. I donā€™t know what form his investments manifested in, but it clearly didnā€™t work as heā€™s in financial do-do, and itā€™s an unpleasant topic amongst the family.

Iā€™m not sure I follow your reasoning.

I mean, 1% interest is admittedly criminal, but itā€™s still better than the 0% in checking. And a monthā€™s wages feels like a lotā€”to meā€”to leave entirely idle.

Everything else though sounds like youā€™re well and ahead of the game though! Kudos for balancing your portfolio. šŸ‘

Personally, as a rule of thumb, I donā€™t think you can have enough in savings.

Our society is built upon going into debtā€¦ and Iā€™d rather pay up front for things like a replacement vehicle or heater/pump or what have you, which means having enough to survive onā€”as you are inferringā€”and enough to survive Murphy making an unannounced and unwelcome visit.

What actually happened here!?

This one was actually funny?

My understanding is that theyā€™re all betazoids of the Lawaxana variety.

Curious about Boimler looking sad at that padd. My gut guess was it had something to do with Will, but he already thinks heā€™s dead soā€¦.?

The fall was published after Nemesis, and the rules on novels were changed from being self contained to interconnected, and they abandoned the numbered novel system.

Instead of rare bursts of continuity, you get random bursts of discontinuity, as the authors have different opinions on how to portray shared OCs, or takes on an event or its significance.

The numbered books tend to only have anything resembling continuity if the same author is involved. Peter David and John Vornholt come immediately to mind as ones to do that.

A Stitch in Time (By Garakā€™s actor) also gets referenced, but that book is an extra special case in the franchise.

Outside of the authors referencing their own work, sometimes New Frontier gets referenced: mostly in the form of Zak Kebron (The BEST character to ever happen to Trek) being Worfā€™s old academy roommate, or in the form of a major disaster hitting the entire quadrant and you get little cuts to various shipsā€¦

But never anything of substance.

I mean, the easiest way would be to read the novels by publication dateā€¦ I donā€™t think thereā€™s a short cut around that.

That said, having full context isā€¦ not always worthwhile. Sometimes just knowing that something happened in the past is more enjoyable than reading it in practice.

Dunno if itā€™s true or not, but I remember reading that Picard brought being shaved bald to the mainstream. So like, folks younger than the thinning hair age would do it.

Again, canā€™t vouch for if itā€™s true or not, but if true, it would suggest it might be possibleā€¦

ā€¦ that said, a cool character would probably have to wear one. And not just nameless background extras.

Qā€™s involvement is from the computer game Star Trek: Borg. Itā€™s a fun, if mostly linear, Choose Your Own Adventure type game shot on the Voyager set.

I liked the little look into the lower decks of the Orions, especially the plagiarism line; but the mysterious ship is getting less mysterious in the not-so-fun way.

Boimler and Rutherford are absolute dweebs. It was different having such a low stakes B-Plot. I feel like their story was missing a little something though. Still good fun.

Really enjoyed the A-Plot. Tendi does such a great job balancing being sunshine and rainbows and underworld assassin. Iā€™m a little surprised her ride home wasnā€™t stolen/stripped for parts.

It was weird seeing Tā€™Lyn, not just admit, but volunteer that she was friends with Mariner and Tendi. I donā€™t think weā€™ve ever seen a Vulcan do that. I mean, sure Spock and Tuvok have admitted they were friends with their respective captains, but only ever in some form of private non-sexual intimacy. But, as established, Tā€™Lyn is a rebel, so it somehow fits her really well.ļæ¼
