This is Sweet Tooth, a current patient at Vancouver MMR (admitted 2023/09/14) ( lemmy.ca )

mmrpatients.org/patient/pv2366-sweet-tooth/

Reason for admission: Marine Mammal Disturbance, Emaciated, Wounds

Sweet Tooth has demonstrated that he is confident eating fish on his own and that he can compete for food with other harbour seals. He has been moved to a larger pool where he can further test and improve his skills. He will move between pools as he progresses further and develops his skills until he reaches his release weight. It can take just a few weeks or several months before a patient is ready for release, depending on health status and treatment plan, weight gain and transport availability.

Nbd, me too!

can compete for food with (…) harbour seals.

Ok, they’d probably gore the shit out of me or whatever seals do to rivals. You win this round, Sweet Tooth!

The Vancouver Marine Mammal rescue is really good, and they’re on a lot of social media. It could be worth asking if they want to get on the Fediverse.

I’ll try to remember in a few weeks when I have time to reach out to more people, unless someone can get to it first!
