I’m trying to assess if this is worth it before talking to contractors. I’ve done a lot of DIY remodels and hired out some but never anything of this magnitude. I want to build an addition on top of the garage and connect to the rest of the 2nd floor. Here’s some assumptions I have....

There are only two cabinets in the kitchen that open at eye level. We need more. My wife does not want to get on a step stool to reach each cabinet. We don’t NEED more counter space, but it would be nice. We are thinking of building into the breakfast nook, or some how pushing into the pantry/butler pantry area....
What’s the orange knob? Obviously the red and blue are hot and cold water for the washing machine. The orange knob is extremely hard to turn and I don’t want to force it without knowing what it is. Any ideas?

I’m not sure what material or style these steps are, but they’ve started crumbling after water got into a crack and froze during the winter. It seems to be getting worse and I’m wondering how to address it. Is this something that can be patched or do I need to remove all this material and start over?
I live in a rental property that has a tiny yard out back. I’d love to paint it just to brighten it up a little more for sitting out in the 3 days of UK sun, but don’t want the landlord to take a hissy fit and steal my deposit. Has anyone bought an all metal garden shed off Amazon or box store? Do they hold up well at all? Most of the ones I’ve seen in person are from the 90s and covered in blackberry bushes.

I’ve got a bunch eating holes in my deck structure. I’ve built a trap, but none have ever gone in it. I’d rather avoid sprays. I’ve read I could spray the holes with a lemon juice concentrate. I posted a picture of the trap I go through but it doesn’t really work.
