    Also, this the height of electoralist magical thinking. As if baby liberals magically come from liberal wombs & sperms, and if we just push out enough of them, they’ll vote, and then it finally will be her turn, and thus the world will heal.

    This is it. There is no end goal. Conservative ideology needs an outside group to keep the masses from noticing how they’re being fucked. If it doesn’t have one, it will need to invent one or die.

    Believe it or not, but cons can produce liberal children. I’m from Alabama. Both my parents are/were conservative and religious. I had just enough brain cells to observe their choices and views and go “no thanks”. My views are liberal even if my ability to function isn’t up to par with liberal folks raised outside the hell that is the South.

    That’s great! But isn’t that unsustainable? In the hypothetical scenario that all lefties have died out, there is a small chance that new lefties may be born. But it is unlikely that they will find one another, bond and realize that they are not crazy but they are thinking of bold new way of living.

    It’s not the end of history (in other words, a final end state of human society). People of the past commonly held opinions that are crazy conservative measured by the average today, but society still progressed.

    Well both of my parents are Christian nationalists and I’m a moderate-left (for lemmy at least) agnostic-atheist. So it’s not like they are 100% successful at indoctrinating their own kids and they don’t really recruit any other way. Especially when it comes to religion, selling your kids on it is 99% of the survival/growth rate. As much as they like to pretend, it’s almost impossible for them to convert adults who weren’t raised in the religion.

    So basically you’ll have the red states continually reduce the rights of the people socially-speaking while the economy enslaves them due to lax restrictions on capitalists. Once the places get shittier the people that see the reasons why will leave and the places will just get worse and worse until they’re reduced to an uneducated mass that only has modern technology when they can buy it. Companies will have a harder time staffing advanced industries due to the educated workforce not wanting to live in a christo-fascist state.

    I don’t think conservatives are particularly good at making conservative children. My parents, many of my friends parents, are quite conservative. My friends and I range from liberal to gun toting anarchist. It’s anecdotal but still. Access to the internet will continue to push young people to the left

    I don’t either, and I should know, but they don’t have to be. Even if they are only 50% they are still going to lap us.
