Calling all /r/sysadmin reddit refugees!

I setup this community specifically because of the time I’ve spent over the years browsing and relying on reddit.com/r/sysadmin for sources of information on tips/tricks, security exploits & patches, outages, and yes even the ranting about how our jobs all suck. (I like mine, for what it’s worth.)

Come on down, ask questions, post what the sysadmin community needs to know about, or head in to get either sympathy or chastisement about why you haven’t left your job yet. 🤣

One thing I'm wondering about is how people moving from Reddit to one of these Fediverse sites are going to end up finding their "home". Like, would we need some sort of sharing bot to work between here, [email protected], [email protected], etc. or are we going to end up in a situation where they're all fragmented from one another?

I found this community via a 2-pronged approach. First, direct search on kbin, and then i used sub.rehab to verify that i've got the correct "community" (?)

EmptyRadar ,

Yeah I came here from Reddit, sysadmin was one of the first communities I looked for. We need a place we can feel sane.

shadow_ireheart ,

We definitely need somewhere to bitch first and foremost

Tricky_Nerd ,

Sure, but we also need someplace to share ideas, problems, solutions, and any other resources we can.

Every single one of us knows that you can't know everything there is to know about IT, communities like this make all of our jobs easier.

So we need a GrumpySysAdmin. :)
