Unionizing every workplace possible grows the labor movement with each win. Every fight is important. There is a case to be made that the current union drive at Amazon’s KCVG airhub in Kentucky is one that will have the biggest impact to the success of future unionization efforts.

The successful union effort at Amazon warehouse JFK8 was monumental, it was truly a David vs Goliath moment. The fight for workers rights doesn’t end at creating a union however, it’s only the beginning. Currently the Amazon Labor Union is isolated and alone, without much bargaining power honestly. That is set to change if the union drive at KCVG is successful. Amazon Labor Union would include one of only two airhubs the company has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to create. Something so important to the company big boy Jeffy Bezos took time out of his busy CEO schedule to learn how to operate a backhoe so he could break ground for the facility.

Working class people with the power, will and organization to strike at KCVG airhub could bring the company to a standstill. Having that power would not only bolster workers at KCVG and JFK8 but empower hundreds of other warehouses to fight for their rights. There are currently many union efforts throughout Amazon warehouses at various stages of organizing, success at KCVG is monumental in fostering their growth and ultimately the wins they deserve at the bargaining table.

This community here at Work Reform needs to be more than just memes. Please go donate to there effort in the link above. It will show employees who have not committed to the union that they are supported. The more donations they receive from around the country the better chance we have of convincing people that are scared of retaliation that we stand with them. In fact don’t just donate go talk to people you know and convince them to donate too.
