@arstechnica I’ve contributed to and learned from the #FountainPen community there extensively. Not recently, but it was never “naturally commercial.”
It was geeky hobbyists coming to talk abt their geeky hobby and the majority of posts were on point.
Did we argue about whether to spend $ w/ a small company that made some u fortunate political statements VERY loudly? Yep. And then agreed to disagree.
Did respected merchants in community show up and weigh in? Sure. But not coml.
