@georgetakei They got nothing.Only greivances. trump is making excuses for losing pre-show. Just like he made excuses prior to losing 2020.

All nine Republican senators running for reelection this year just voted against the right to contraception:

John Barrasso
Marsha Blackburn
Kevin Cramer
Ted Cruz
Deb Fischer
Josh Hawley
Pete Ricketts
Rick Scott
Roger Wicker

So much for the party of "freedom."

@rbreich The usual suspects. The silver lining is that this will be motivating women to get out and vote.

Remember: Trump's jury was made up of ordinary citizens — selected with input from Trump's own lawyers. The jurors were not politicians or members of the "Deep State." They were Americans who did their civic duty.

@rbreich But it's a Cult. Logic doesn't apply. Imagine being so gullible or willfully ignorant. It's just pathetic.

With Trump slurring his words again at his speech in the Bronx last week, and more unhinged rants on Truth Social over Memorial Day after standing there cluelessly saluting during “Amazing Grace,” it feels more essential than ever that we get the word out about the danger that Trump’s mental decline poses. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/john-gartner-trump-cognitive-decline

@georgetakei I have more resolve than ever to vote for Biden. trump is a two-bit conman as De Niro said today flanked by Capitol Police officers. It's truly mystifying how so many can be fooled by such a stupid screw up.

The Appeal to Heaven flag isn't just tied to Jan 6.

It's a Christian nationalist symbol.

Christian nationalists believe that the law of the land is not the Constitution, but instead the law of God as they interpret it.

Do you see the problem with Alito flying this flag?

JKirkpatrick ,
@JKirkpatrick@mastodon.social avatar

@rbreich Clearly it was a mistake to put the Justices of the highest court in the land above oversight themselves. SMH

In April 2022, the Heritage Foundation introduced 'Project 2025' with the hope of guiding America toward authoritarianism. Now, with Donald Trump at the top of the Republican ticket, that threat has only grown more dire. But what exactly are the plans of Project 2025, and how can we fight against this right-wing movement? A Q&A with Thomas Zimmer, Professor of 20th-century U.S. and international history at Georgetown University, sheds light on this dangerous project. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/project-2025-thomas-zimmer-trump

When Trump openly and repeatedly exclaims that migrants are “poisoning the blood of our country,” or shares a video calling for a “unified Reich,” he is literally echoing the language of Hitler.

Trump is not a “populist.” He’s not a “strongman.” He is a fascist.

Use the word.

JKirkpatrick ,
@JKirkpatrick@mastodon.social avatar

@rbreich I'm sure you're using the term 'strongman' loosely.

@rbreich It's a poorly written soap opera that's being forced on us like trump in a lady's dressing room. I can't wait for it all to be over. Biden is stabilizing. Trump is destructive. It's a clear choice. Ask yourself what you want to see for the next 4 years. More landmark bills passed? Freedom to vote? A President who has empathy and does things like Student Debt forgiveness? Or a one day dictator? Only 1 catch. It'll be a Dictator groundhog day every day.

Russia is actively working through various means to undermine our elections, sow division, and chip away at our democratic processes. And there is growing evidence that they are being aided in that by members of the Republican Party. Just how compromised are these pro-Putin Republicans? https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/gop-russia-kompromat-putin-congress

I still hear people arguing that prosecuting a former president sets a “dangerous precedent.”

The truly dangerous precedent would be to establish that presidents are above the law.

JKirkpatrick ,
@JKirkpatrick@mastodon.social avatar

@rbreich The precedent of all time was set when the biggest, inept buffoon to ever run was awarded the Presidency
