Kichae , to Work Reform in Every damn day

I still don't understand how people got "quiet quitting" so twisted, or why. The term came from businesses looking at employee behaviours and discovering leading indicators of quitting. It had nothing to do with working-to-rule, and was entirely about being able to identify that an employee had one foot out the door.

This is a really simple concept, which makes the reappropriation of the term seem purposful.

Kichae , to KDE in Does it make sense to create more communities in the lemmy.kde.social instance?

Every community needs moderators it seems and here it seems they need to be KDE contributors

Those don't really seem like related skillsets. Community managers aren't usually asset contributors.

You’ve expressed what you want, but your reasons don’t don’t reflect positivity. They reflect the notion that women are somehow fundamentally other to you tlin a way men aren’t, and you provide no reason to believe that to be true.

You know what you want. It’s not at all clear that you understand what you need.

It’s not the algorithm being stupid. It’s the algorithm only personalizing a limited number of things. The optimal solution is to yet people stuck on things that are proven sticky, so after a few videos, they basically always start offering up bullshit that aggros people.

It just happens faster on short, because videos are like a minute long, not 15.

Kichae , to xkcd in xkcd #2864: Compact Graphs

Yes, yes, you’re quite right. Things must be accessible to 2 year olds, or they’re not worth doing. Or if they’re not accessible to someone, they should have no direct means to understand them.

Now carry on believing all of that, if that’s what you wish.
