My province (BC Canada) is in the process of implementing regulations that force a minimum wage, but only when the driver is "on the job".
My first thought was that uber will just prioritize the fastest (aka most reckless) drivers. This kinda proves that point... I guess we'll see where this all goes.

I fucking hate these posts so much, they are obnoxious and misguided. Whether or not a CEO wakes up at 5am every day, or works as hard is completely irrelevant to solving the wealth inequality issues we face. We are allowing an absolute minuscule fraction of the population to gather wealth and allowing them to use their wealth to assert control over politics and the economy. Focus on that, not fantasies about how much smarter and harder working you are than CEOs.
I agree WFH is good but I feel like people exaggerate how hard it is to bring your own lunch. I ate an apple with nut butter today because I was too lazy to meal prep. Yeah, I have low standards, yeah it’s not exactly filling but whatever. I’ve saved hundreds by just sucking it up having a shitty lunch when I’m too lazy to meal prep.
TO BE CLEAR: I 100% support WFH. Fuck greedy, lazy employers who refuse it for no reason, we should all continue to fight for WFH. Acting like there is no alternative to buying lunch every day is a cop out.
Not explaining yourself just makes you look like an idiot. If you explain yourself some people may look into what you’re saying or they may think you’re a jerk. When you don’t all you’re doing is being a petulant nuisance who presumably can’t even explain what they’re advocating for.
