VaylLarkinPoet

@[email protected]

I'm a Trans, Nonbinary, Disabled, Wheelchair-modded writer living in Pittsburgh, PA, Lanape Territory. I write poetry, plays, short fiction and some wildly speculative essays!

Whimsy improves most things. (Like the bunny and toy moose in my BG!) Those it does not, deserve their gravity and weight. Two things can be true at the same time. Eyes open to see injustice, heart open too. <3

@georgetakei Definitely important to consider the source. Vance entered the scene on the wings of Hillbilly Elegy, a portrait of Appalachia so insultingly myopic a lot of folks who might have liked him think he's horrid. Vance cares about one thing: Sympathetic Attention. He is absolutely the privileged cis white man moaning about his own oppression. He likes to conflate himself with the working poor, so that he can claim His perspectives are ours. Reader, they are not.
