@arstechnica one thing in the article that popped out was a line about how new dog owners saw health improvements that cat owners didn't

I suspect the cause is that dogs need to be walked. The health benefits probably come from exercise made necessary by getting a dog.

Tesla chair says Elon Musk needs $46 billion pay plan to stay motivated

Musk could devote less time to Tesla if pay isn't re-approved, shareholders hear.

Elon Musk is diverting Tesla’s GPUs to X, xAI, Nvidia emails say

The Tesla CEO is accused of diverting resources from the company again.

@arstechnica if he's just taking the hardware and moving it to other companies, add it to the pile of reasons the board should fire Musk alongside everything else he's done.

Selling the GPUs to his other ventures though would probably be OK. It might even give a nice tax benefit by letting the company write down depreciation "losses" on otherwise perfectly good graphics cards. I somehow doubt he's being all that clever in his self-dealing though.

@arstechnica not sure why Google would cite "AI" of all things when cuts are to real estate and finance. Smells like they're lying.

Real estate and finance needs for a business do not change if that company is still engaged in the same fundamental work. In Google's case it's still doing software R&D.

Divesting real estate assets reducing work needed (e.g. due to Work from Home or previous layoffs) would make more sense here.
