Is the world ready for an AI assistant that can laugh in your face?

It's amazing what a few well-placed chuckles and vocal tone shifts can do.

@arstechnica Can we just not. And also, does this version do anything to drive down it's high usage of power and water? If we adopt more of this stuff, and no one's looking at the climate change impacts, we're all doomed. It's not hyperbole. Here in PNW, the power agencies released a report saying that the current grid cannot handle the AI demands and power loss is likely. We can't keep doing what we're doing.

@arstechnica

“the areas with the highest costs tend to have the lowest cumulative emissions. In other words, the problems are felt most keenly in the countries that made the smallest contributions to them.”

I deeply feel this. Back in my home country of Bermuda, the ecosystem is already experiencing disrepair. It’s entirely possible that it will be nearly all underwater by 2050. And yet the wheels of late stage capitalism continue to turn there with the “all in” surrounding crypto/fintech.

Would chatbots make the same driving decisions as us?

AI driving decisions are not quite the same as the ones humans would make.

@arstechnica AI can’t navigate successfully through sentences at times. What makes anyone think they’d be more competent in navigating streets?
