I can't believe I even have to say this, but it is not normal that the Supreme Court is taking its sweet time to decide if a former president is immune from prosecution for inciting an insurrection to overturn an election. This should have been decided already. The answer is no!

@rbreich they're trying to figure out how to give Trump immunity and make sure that it can't be applied to Biden...so it's gonna take longer to get the clowns in the car.

The Senate will vote shortly on a bill to prevent birth control from being banned. Republicans previously blocked attempts at this and may do so again.

If you'd told me 60 years ago that we'd be debating whether birth control should be legal in 2024, I wouldn't have believed it.

@rbreich I kind of feel like all of this could have been avoided years ago if the Federal government would have just passed laws protecting women's choices and birth control.

But if you'd have told me all this was happening in 2024 I'd have thought that crazy 20 years ago. I figured we'd be here around 2044.

We've been headed this way for 70 years. Joseph McCarthy & Roy Cohn, unfortunately, showed the GOP the way back then.

@rbreich I think that is not the right question. Should the government be the facilitator of creating billionaires?

I mean Bill Gates wasn't alone with Microsoft in becoming a billionaire. He received support and tax breaks from the federal if not state government.

I'm not an economist, I'm going to assume that my statements have a wee bit of truth but it's wildly more complicated than that.

I do believe in a free market system but does any government truly practice that?

They do get pretty complicated.
