Washington State changed the minimum wage years ago and mandated it to include tipped workers. It didn't really change the tipping, but the tips still went to the staff, so at least the workers got a more livable income out of the deal.

I use self signed certs for thinclient authentication. Generate self signed cert, load into AWS workspaces, sign device certs with root, and only machines that have the cert installed and pass the username password prompt will get through the AWS service broker. I can't see how using a CA signed cert helps me in any meaningful way. If I lose trust in the cert, I revoke it myself from the service.

I do have a private ca service running on an internal ec2 instance, but all the AWS workspaces broker checks is if the device cert being passed by the thinclient was signed by one of the two signing certs you've loaded into the service, so the private ca itself still doesn't manage revocation in this case.

I do appreciate the suggestion. My main goal in sharing this use case was to show folks that there are many places certificate are used that let's encrypt isn't geared up to solve. Other examples are things like signing Microsoft API requests, etc.

Anyway, have a great day!

Take another look at Joe Biden. His is the presidency progressives have been waiting for. ( www.theguardian.com )

The tragedy of Joe Biden is that people see his age, his frailty and his ailing poll numbers and they miss the bigger story. Which is that his has been a truly consequential presidency, even a transformational one. In less than three years, he has built a record that should unify US progressives, including those on the radical...

Hard disagree. What did he do about student debt? Asked Congress to act, told the vocal left that he didn't know if using executive orders to forgive debt would hold water, after Congress failed to act he did use executive orders, and was halted by scotus. He also directed the department of education to forgive loans in large traunches for special cases that could be forgiven.

Abortion? He directed the executive branch to broaden access to medicines to induce abortions, protect access to annoying through Medicare, and specifically directed the HHD to make sure mifepristone was widely available.

I mean, it is easy to cherry pick individual actions and paint with a broad brush. I certainly don't like everything Biden has done, but to blame him for what the Republican states are doing to trans rights, abortion, and student debt is just ignoring the limitations of the office. He's president of the federal executive, not a monarch.
