@arstechnica The chaos at the recent 2024 Monte Carlo Grand Prix highlights the difference between code quickly crunching the numbers to make the statistically "correct" choice and a driver in a particular emotional state making choices even he doesn't fully understand.

No AI was an interesting but likely necessary choice. No cockpit big enough or power source beefy enough for the data center required by AI good enough. BTW rumor has it that F1 uses AI drivers to run simulations of situations.
