ricecake , to Home Improvement in Is this discoloration a problem?

It looks in the image like there might be some fungus. To me that's a sign that it's worthwhile to get someone professional to at least give it a look in person.

ricecake , to LinkedinLunatics in I will NOT protect your company secrets. Also you should hire me.

I feel conflicted on this one. On the one hand, most startups have absolutely shit ideas, no clue how to execute and will crumble into a pile of half delivered products. NDAs and non-competes are basically saying you promise not to tell anyone about the idea to “put ___ on the block chain”, or to not work for anyone working with “machine learning” for five years.

But also… It’s just asshole ragebait.

ricecake , to xkcd in xkcd #2868: Label the States

Bunch of extra states with similar shapes to existing states, so it messes with your eye and kinda blends in.

Might be harder to do with a map of Africa, Asia, Europe or south America because there aren’t as many straight line borders and things are a bit more curvy.

ricecake , to Work Reform in How Long It Takes the Largest Companies in America to Make One Employee's Average Annual Salary

Well, I think I’d rather see total employee compensation, rather than strictly wages.

I think mixing profit in would muddy the waters of what it’s showing, but salary+healthcare+other benefits would show it’s intent a little better.

ricecake , to LinkedinLunatics in Is he serious 😂

Interesting. Living here, it’s not uncommon at all for houses to be multistory.

ricecake , to LinkedinLunatics in Is he serious 😂

Is it uncommon? I feel like I see them all the time.

We just have a lot of houses, and a lot of space which makes it so you can feasibly have a generously sized single story house.

There’s also a trend towards making the basement comfortably livable in a lot of areas.

ricecake , to Personal Finance in Salary Needed To Buy a Home In The US

That’s not home price, that’s salary requirements.a house in San Jose costs $1.6 million, not $375 thousand. You’re paying about $9 thousand a month before taxes.
