root_beer , to Politics in Biden confronts a 'pissed-off generation' of young voters who may be decisive in 2024

That sucks, sorry to hear it. My mom, of all people, who I don’t think has ever voted, asked me the other day if I was going to vote no on issue 1 in the upcoming special election in Ohio, in which a yes vote would prevent a ballot issue protecting women’s reproductive rights from being up for the vote in November. It’s gotten bad enough here that she is going to vote. There’s a red line for everyone, maybe you need to help yours find it.

The GOP has already packed the courts, and Trump has already said he’ll nominate more SCOTUS judges if he’s elected. The fight is already here, but it’s entirely one-sided.

root_beer , to RedditMigration in Did Karma really matter that much in Reddit?
@root_beer@kbin.social avatar

It was important enough for karma-farming bots to exist for some reason, I dunno. I'm glad it's not really a thing here, it was especially frustrating to see the occasional innocuous comment be downvoted for some inexplicable reason.

root_beer , to /kbin in can we not name magazines like reddit and make them better? examples: foodporn => goodfood earthporn => BreathtakingLandscapes trees => weed ....
@root_beer@kbin.social avatar

I agree with the other posters that this is just internet nomenclature in general, but I have noticed that some people are referring to Lemmy “communities” as “sublemmies“. Fortunately, I don’t think the name “kbin” really lends well to such an analogue so we can just continue to call them “magazines”.
