Once had a sub-editor (I forget his exact title) at a Texas metro complain to me about how much time he spent in meetings. Never enough time to write, he said.

He was responsible for one column a week.

Trump keeps touting plans to deport millions of undocumented workers.

His vile attacks are as dumb as they are racist and xenophobic.

These people strengthen our communities, contribute to the economy, do essential jobs, and pay billions in taxes.

Don't fall for Trump's lies.

True story: Once was told it was imperative that a tooth come out soon since it would only get worse. Implant replacement is expensive, as quoted to me by him. I told him I'd ponder it.

Next checkup he poked and prodded and announced that everything was fine. Not a word about he had told me the last time.

I never went back.

Still have the tooth.
