The DOT regulated junk fees. Airlines are suing.

The CFPB capped credit card fees. Banks are suing.

Medicare is negotiating drug prices. Pharma is suing.

The FTC banned noncompetes. Business groups are suing.

Corporate America can't stand government working for the people.

@rbreich When the (metaphorical) Crown allies with the People against the (metaphorical) Nobility, the Nobility fret and the nation is stable.

When the Crown allies with the Nobility against the People, there's instability and, ultimately, bloody revolution.

Which way is the Crown working in most of the world these days?

I really wish I could find a way to get rich betting on a bloody uprising.

Unemployment has been at or below (mostly below) 4% since the end of 2021.

4 years ago, Trump called it "joyous" &"stupendous" that unemployment was only 13.3%.

In the "booming" Reagan years, unemployment averaged 7.5%.

Pres. Biden is presiding over historically strong growth.

@rbreich Which definition of "unemployment"? There are six in common usage, and politicians wanting to make their numbers look good always seem to cite the most useless one.

All nine Republican senators running for reelection this year just voted against the right to contraception:

John Barrasso
Marsha Blackburn
Kevin Cramer
Ted Cruz
Deb Fischer
Josh Hawley
Pete Ricketts
Rick Scott
Roger Wicker

So much for the party of "freedom."

@rbreich The Republicans stand for the freedom of all people!

It's just that their definition of "people" is somewhat different from most. Apparently you're a "person" if you're a) white, b) male, and c) wealthy.

Everybody else doesn't count.

@arstechnica Every time I see Tesla mentioned, I'm reminded of this thing I stumbled over (apparently inspired by someone listening to Tesla's first-quarter earnings call this year):
