Long story short: he met his future boss at a carwash while they were talking, boss wrote down his number with a description of where he met him rather than a name, introduced him as the guy from the carwash to all the new co-workers, and everyone just started calling him Carwash and the name stuck. Not a lot of people even know his real name anymore. I’ve heard it before, but I don’t remember what it is.
I started the writing in English primarily, translating to Portuguese during edit phase, aiming to keep the reading flow around the same level. However, the best experience will be reading it in English, in my opinion, as it has a better vocabulary for this genre.
Would like to try as well! Love the cyberpunk kind of universe (we also have the game with the same name). I only have the reader from the ipad, so anything compatible with it. If not, paperback it is.
Also I speak portuguese, so if you wrote it originally in portuguese I don’t mind have the original version (if I m one of the lucky ones).

Mas se preferir ler em português, ficaria muito feliz em saber sua opinião sobre a versão!
A quarter of all subreddits are still private or restricted (can't post in them). This includes ones like /r/music or /r/programming. Of the 6 30+ million subscriber subreddits, only 3 have returned to normalcy. One is restricted, two others are in john oliver mode. The developers of Minecraft have officially abandoned Reddit as a platform, and advertisers are still pulling out as well.
It feels like a very specific print because it's literally for this wrench but guess I'm going to post them when I am done with all the tools. Follow me on printables I guess. I use the same username for printables and thingiverse that I use here.
Saw this and replied to it from my sh.it account, but of course that wouldn’t show up here now >_<
How thick is it? I use quite heavy arrows, and I’m currently using a “normal” foam target. I’m also curious to hear how it works out in the longer term, some of my friends use cardboard but I’ve held off because they always seem to be faffing about with it
Are the handles made of pipes or just made to look like pipes? If it’s the first, what would you Google for if you want that kind of pipe. I love the pipe estethic but when I look for it on Google I always get ugly or plastic piping.
Yes, they are metal pipes/fittings that I got from Lowe’s (local hardware store). I used a spray paint with the term “hammered” in the name, it gives a nice textured metal coating, since they don’t look this nice off the store shelves!
I used strong dish soap and a scrub brush to get them dirt and grease free, then assembled and put them in the oven at 200 degrees (F) for 30 minutes to dry. Then put on rubber gloves to handle (no skin oils) and painted them. Have had no issues with the paint chipping off or anything like that.
This simply solidifies my opinion that I've had all along that Beehaw is a trash instance full of sensitive censor-happy ninnies and I hope they all resolve the issues they are having to eventually be finally free from trolls and assholes in their humble & beautiful walled-garden paradise echo chamber. All the best for them.
Yeah I don’t feel quite as harshly but as soon as I saw they didn’t allow downvotes I knew their philosophy wasn’t for me. Too bad about losing their gaming group though.
Isn't the whole point of the fediverse that you get to create and craft your experience for your community? There's a really good reason defederating is a feature. I don't get it, Beehaw decides to use the features of federation so now we: firstly become tribalistic (them vs us), and secondly decide to get angry? Like it or not, this is what you signed up for when you wanted federation.
I don't see the point of getting angry like this, and really don't see how this negativity being conducive to a thriving community. Some new people are going to explore fediverse, see tribalistic mudslinging among instances, and say "not for me."
I'd say respect their decision and move on, if it's not for you it's not for you.
Its both a value add and a negative. For those more focused on their own community (Like beehaw) it's an obvious positive. But for many users, losing access to certain communities on your own instance of choice is going to be a negative. I personally don't blame Beehaw for favoring the former. I think improved moderation tools and more granular federation would at least make the move less of a blow to users.
Yeah, they're saying "look, we only have four mods, have a highly targeted type of community we are trying to build, and have had to disproportionately moderate users from these instances" which seems reasonable on it's face.
That's kind of the beauty of Lemmy/Kbin right? You can spin up an instance with whatever rules you want. I think people are reacting to the fact that during the Reddit exodus Beehaw kind of looked like a "default" general instance, including me.
But that's a misreading on our part, not them going back on that.
Absolutely. It’s disappointing that this person read a post made by the Beehaw admins that was written with nuance and grace, and then decided to respond with vitriol. That’s exactly the kind of attitude that is so prolific on Reddit, and I am happy to leave it behind. Thank you for your reasoned reply.
OP, I encourage you in the future to choose grace.
Do you think it is worth starting the series for someone who did not really enjoy the Games due to the writing and thought the first season of the show was a mess?
I love the show and Witcher 3, but absolutely cannot stand the books, so perhaps yes? Maybe it’ll be the other way around for you, if it can be this way 'round for me.
