I’d like to point out that according to what’s reported, they’re trying to frame it as a “mental health” episode, where it appears it is not. The Airman was sending a clear message of support for Palestine, and I imagine, demonstrating a complete disgust with Israel and his leadership in continuing to fuel a genocide.
I sincerely doubt US officials or the military cares, and they’re going to double down on the individual’s “mental health” as being the culprit and source of problems rather than the infinite harms this genocide has on Palestine and those around the world with sight and soul.
Seriously though, I thought you were kidding then I read the article. Title should have read, Biden has been blocked in reallocation of boarder wall funds.
In the Oval Office on Thursday, Biden made clear that he was moving forward with wall construction grudgingly, in order to comply with funds appropriated by Congress in 2019. He said he had tried and failed to get Congress to redirect the funding it had allocated for wall construction in south Texas. “The money was appropriated for the border wall. I tried to get them to reappropriate, to redirect that money. They didn’t. They wouldn’t. In the meantime, there’s nothing under the law other than they have to use the money for what it was appropriated for. I can’t stop that,” he said.
No defense necessary - his hands are tied and breaking the rules to achieve your own agenda is what fascists do. This is just a lingering bit of rot from the Trump admins, frankly I’m surprised that conservative media isn’t framing this more as a victory for Trump
We’re not talking about “norms”, we’re talking about “law”. And it’s always important to remember the whatever powers you give this president, you have to give the next. What happens if Biden breaks the law for his own goals, even if those goals are noble, and then Trump is elected in?
A politician who breaks laws on their own whim is a tyrant, full stop. And even a noble tyrant doesn’t help anyone in the long run.
No, we’re talking about norms. Laws that don’t have enforcement mechanisms are polite suggestions. Biden, like a good liberal, obeys the rules of the playground.
What happens if Biden breaks the law for his own goals, even if those goals are noble, and then Trump is elected in?
Nothing stops Trump from just breaking those laws anyway! In fact, he spent his term doing exactly what you’re talking about. Your theory about how laws actually function is extremely flawed. We’re rapidly heading to an election where half the country will vote for a convicted criminal, we are so far past the point you’re making that it comes across as a joke.
Are you aware that his he has said that they don’t have the evidence to ascertain origin and has speculated that they may not be from another planet but from another dimension?
No reason to think there aren’t other dimensions, and if there are any there might as well be an infinite number, and surely in an infinite number of dimensions someone in at least one of them discovered how to travel between them.
I’m not trying to be argumentative or even contrary. I was just legitimately curious if you were aware that some of the claims and speculation being made go WELL beyond the headline here.
I’ll give the video a watch. I will say though I didn’t mean that I believed him completely, I just feel inclined to a degree. Some of his stuff is more than a little kooky.
There’s still a lot that we don’t know about UAPs. All jokes aside, there are academic programs in place that study this phenomena. I, personally, interviewed one of these academics and you can read it here: reddit.com/…/sebastian_oehme_answers_questions_re…
Nonhuman biologics on Mars or Europa? Discovery of the century (assuming they weren’t accidentally ferried up by a rover). But Earth? You have to go to a great deal of trouble to create a space without nonhuman biologics.
