What are the consequences for researchers at LSU trying to publish?

Are they expected to disclose such "partnership" signed by their host university in their declaration on conflict of interest? What if they don't? Will journal correct papers to add a note on conflicts of interest?

The amount of effort and resources that’s required to collect taxes and catch cheaters is mind-boggling.

Many countries would benefit from simplifying the tax code, scrubbing a few loopholes. ie make it harder to cheat, cheaper to collect, so the resources get spent somewhere else.

Agencies in the USA have been stockpiling vulnerabilities as well, rather than reporting them so vendors cam fix them. It already backfired before, it would backfire again.

I guess these algos are monitored but given benefit of the doubt. Few understand the system and/or would risk going against the system’s recommandations of fear of getting blamed.

The standard state income tax rate in Massachusetts is 5%.

Does that mean the highest earners have a 9% income tax in that area? Either that’s very low, or this article isn’t very clear on actual tax rates.

So overall income tax in Boston, MA for the highest bracket is 46%. That’s comparable to many european countries. Although brackets are probably very different.
