Many Redditors were caught off guard by the removal of their chat and message history.
They did not provide a reason. There was no further dialog. I just got a system message telling me I was removed....
I use NetNewsWire on my iPad and Feeder on my Android phone to read RSS feeds from multiple sites (including Lemmy and Kbin). I also use it to monitor niche sub-reddits so I can give Reddit as little traffic as possible....
TL;DR: I made a styled version of Reddit for Kbin instances for people participating in the reddit migration. Inspired mostly by Old Reddit, but it actually has a dark mode!
This popped up on reddit when I clicked a web search result. Just what we’ve always wanted.
I suggest replacing a fuckspez with “join-lemmy.org”, for anyone still having the redditapp
Recently, Reddit announced that they may be discontinuing awards/coins on September 12. However I'm skeptical and I think this may be just a deceptive announcement for them to make a quick buck from awards/coins. What are your opinions on this?
my killer post in modcoord, called How come r/fuckreddit is allowed to stay private while everyone else has to reopen, do the rules not apply to everyone?, is currently dying in the god damn mod queue where nobody can see it and I don't think they'll ever unlock it, because they never do....
I've probably spent an hour in the past month just trying to login to kbin, clearing site data, refreshing, retrying. I thought the bug was fixed recently but it's worse than ever now....
https://hackernoon.com/discussing-three-reddit-alternatives-after-reddits-api-decisions
When the whole Reddit fiasco started happening, I saw a lot of people wiping and deleting their Reddit accounts and moving elsewhere, like here on Lemmy....
Just an FYI about another Reddit alternative. New URL, too. I think they decided to change the name to avoid a copyright issue.
Note that this is not a request for review bombing, but rather a request for your opinion....
For those that dont want to look at the link:...
although I am using lemmy almost exclusively , I am using geddit at times for reading reddits , It is a good app that does not use reddit api !
Edit: alright I'm sticking this up here because a number of people seem confused--this post isn't trying to convince you that "fediverse" is a bad term--rather it's a discussion of why I think "threadiverse" is a good umbrella term, for the forum-based part of the fediverse specifically. (lemmy+kbin)...
r/pics is wide open to all kinds of anti reddit posts, calls for spez to resign, whatever you want with the current rules right now....
I’ve looked around but haven’t found updates on if or where the subreddit migrated....
