Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to sell an indie game (see my profile!!!!!!), but its crazy how the culture shifts depending on where you are! On Mastodon and Kbin I don't feel like I'm wasting time just talking to people and enjoying the company.

On twitter and threads I just feel if I'm not yelling and shouting, its not worth my time. Like I'm falling behind if I'm not trying to push the sale.

I don't know why that all is honestly.

    The social environment, most likely.

If you're at a carnival barker convention, you're going to need to shout your voice hoarse just to seem like you even belong, let alone stand out.

So, please tell me about your game. I’m always on the hunt for new ones.

Also unfortunately TikTok has become the best platform where you can reach a large audience and gain lots of Wishlists.

    gain lots of wishlists o.O?

In Steam you can add games to your wishlist, if the game gets released or is put on sale Steam will email everyone who wish listed the game. This system has a high sales conversion rate, probably the highest a game developer will ever encounter in their marketing campaign. That’s why indie game devs focus on getting people to wishlist their game. Which they call “getting wishlists”
