[solved] Shower cartridge should just pull straight out? ( lemmy.world )
Second guessing before I brute force this and break the cartridge. It should just pull straight out at this point?

What kinda of wood or other material should be used to replace the box end and soffit?
Finagled my way into the attic to explore a bit. Found this wiring run that basically lays on the sheet rock with insulation sitting on top. It goes to a light switch that controls three of this thin led recessed lights. Could this get really hot and start a fire with the insulation on top?...
I’m not sure what material or style these steps are, but they’ve started crumbling after water got into a crack and froze during the winter. It seems to be getting worse and I’m wondering how to address it. Is this something that can be patched or do I need to remove all this material and start over?
This corner of the shower seems to be having some mold issues from regular use. Water seems to be collecting in that spot after a shower and doesn’t seem to be draining properly. Is there anything I can do for a permanent fix?...
What’s the orange knob? Obviously the red and blue are hot and cold water for the washing machine. The orange knob is extremely hard to turn and I don’t want to force it without knowing what it is. Any ideas?
Found this in a cabinet under the stove. I think it’s old ventilation from before the induction burner was installed. Not sure how to seal it off.
I moved into a place with one very hazy window screen that is difficult to see through....
It’s leaking right where the arrow is pointing. It only leaks when it’s refilling the tank after each use. The two outside carbon filters were new in March but the middle (reverse osmosis) filter is probably a year or more older. I’m hoping it just needs a new RO filter and that it’s only leaking because it’s clogged....
I made a post previously on having rot behind a soffit and many of you gave me great advice on how to proceed in fixing it the right way....
What about Matt Risinger?
Hot water was running out very quickly. I tested voltages, upper element looked good, on the lower the small protective plastic cover over the wires shocked me. I cut the breaker and found this loose wire. And obviously all this rust/mineral build up. If I were to fix I’d try to replace the element but I’m afraid that I...

I’m trying to find a certain kind of bracket to mount a cage fan like this on my porch....
Hi Friends! This drain is right in front of the entrance to our basement-level garage, at the bottom of a ramp leading down to it. Heavy rain makes it overflow, even with the grate off (I know it needs to be cleaned)....
I noticed this a few years ago and forgot about it. How concerning is this?
Has anyone bought an all metal garden shed off Amazon or box store? Do they hold up well at all? Most of the ones I’ve seen in person are from the 90s and covered in blackberry bushes.

I was hanging a ceiling fan in this room when I discovered that the mounting screw holes in the electrical box are stripped. My dad has suggested using JB Weld putty, letting it cure, drilling it out with a small bit and then using wood screws. First time homeowner and have neither the confidence nor the expertise to completely...

I’ve got a bunch eating holes in my deck structure. I’ve built a trap, but none have ever gone in it. I’d rather avoid sprays. I’ve read I could spray the holes with a lemon juice concentrate. I posted a picture of the trap I go through but it doesn’t really work.
