kohler toilet "canister valve" doesn't seal ( imgur.com )
Hello!...
Hello!...
Moving into a new apartment that has drywall returns already installed around the windows, but does not have any window framing or sills (I understand they’re called stools when on the interior)....
I was hanging a ceiling fan in this room when I discovered that the mounting screw holes in the electrical box are stripped. My dad has suggested using JB Weld putty, letting it cure, drilling it out with a small bit and then using wood screws. First time homeowner and have neither the confidence nor the expertise to completely...

I just cut through a 6x6 pressure treated beam with my Ryobi brushless circular saw. Didn’t even bother to upgrade to a diablo blade. And it worked great!...

I have a very odd issue that I can’t solve, perhaps someone here could help. The pipe attached to my main shutoff valve is emitting a soft knocking sound at around 120 beats per minute. The sound persists as long as there is any amount of pressure, and I can feel it in the pipe nearby as well as in the valve handle itself. The...
Has anyone bought an all metal garden shed off Amazon or box store? Do they hold up well at all? Most of the ones I’ve seen in person are from the 90s and covered in blackberry bushes.
Hi folks, I got a heat pump installed at my home and I’m looking to better understand when/how it switches over to backup fuel in the winter....
I just finished tearing out the carpet and modernizing the stairs. I used a Poly stain, but should I also go with another coat of just Poly? Added a before and after (still need to do some minor touch ups from painters tape)
Need help figuring out how to hide this U ducting. Direct link to the Imgur album (so sorry if this is not the right way to share, still trying to figure out how to create a thread properly. Tried to add with new photo but it wouldn't let me add by URL): https://imgur.com/a/9xdkYrP...
What kinds of tools or products do you know of that work well for moles? Not interested in trapping and releasing, or having dead and decaying animals underground. I’ve heard of the sonic spikes which may deter them but with mixed reviews
When the garge door is closed it recently developed a kink as show. Is this a simple fix such as adjusting the brackets, or is it possibly something more structural to the door? Other side has no problems, if you aren’t sure thanks for looking anyway!
Title says it. New Faucet came with a drain that doesn’t tighten down enough, you can see the threads end much lower on the plastic one. Thanks
I’m looking at getting smart locks for my front and back door, but don’t know what to look for. Hopefully something with a keypad, so I can give friends a code to get in, and a RFID badge, so I can easily get in and out. Any suggestions are welcome!
I have 2 standard freestanding units in my basement and crawlspace running 24/7. I want to get something more energy efficient, will last a while, and that’s easy to maintain. I am considering an Aprileaire dehumidifier. Based on this www.energystar.gov/productfinder/…/results it would appear they have a high efficiency...
I noticed this a few years ago and forgot about it. How concerning is this?

I’ve got a bunch eating holes in my deck structure. I’ve built a trap, but none have ever gone in it. I’d rather avoid sprays. I’ve read I could spray the holes with a lemon juice concentrate. I posted a picture of the trap I go through but it doesn’t really work.

For context, I’m talking about texturing smaller drywall repairs like, say, a patched 3-inch hole (don’t get me started on railings not installed to code…) or even nail pop repairs as per the other recent post. Assume I’ve mudded and sanded and it’s nice and smooth and now I want it… less smooth. To match, say, an...
Hey all!...
Our old cheap toilet you can’t get parts for anymore (dual flush). I remember my dad fixing old singl-flush toilets with just standard parts from the hardware store. But these new dual-flush toilets are super proprietary. Are single-flush toilets more standardized to where I would be able to easily find parts? I am thinking...
I was investigating why is one of the air vents so loud when AC is running. Turned out the air duct is not actually behind the vent, but to the side of it....
Our master bath doesn’t have an exhaust fan and I’d like to add one to help with the humidity. It’s the primary bathroom of use upstairs and the 2nd full bath is on the other side of the wall....
