Democrats on Thursday sought to make the case for legislation to mandate a binding ethics code for the U.S. Supreme Court after revelations that some conservative justices failed to disclose luxury trips and real estate transactions, with a Senate panel set to vote on the measure.

Why would the Supremes not just rule it unconstitutional because it's one branch interfering with another? It sounds good but it's probably not going anywhere.

It has no chance of passing the House, anyway. It's a good initiative, but House Republicans have already made it clear that they won't even consider it.
