Kev & Rob agree that “Subspace Rhapsody” had its charms, but didn’t quite live up to the hype, and that “Bride of Chaotica!” (VOY) is the last time going over the top into silliness was the point of an episode. Finally, as a bonus, Rob re-watched Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and was surprised by how much he...
I started watching Star Trek Discovery. The vibe of the show thus far is pretty fashy and reactionary. There’s always been some good discussion on the nature of the federation and and it’s politics and methods, but so far it feels sinister. I’ve gotten vibes like this from other shows, it’s like the underlying ideology...
Swallow is the author of several well received Star Trek tie-in novels, both for the new shows and the Relauch novelverse (as well as for some other fandoms)....
Pretty good summary I feel of where we are up to with SNW after 2 seasons, including the commentary about how the show is handling TOS nostalgia and being prequel.
In Subspace Radio 38, Rob & Kev need a sonic shower after the slow march through the Federation-Klingon war and its ugly consequences that was “Under the Cloak of War”. Reflecting on the Federation at war, they look back at “Yesterday’s Enterprise” (TNG) and “The Siege of AR-558” (DS9).

The part about trek at 2:26.

I think this episode is part one of the holonovel followed by the second part during the second half. The only break we take from seeing the holonovel be played is when they tell captain Janeway (where she implies that she has to be made to look good) about the first half and when Tom and Tuvok are in the mess hall being hassled...
Good morning Federation Members and Reddit Refugees,...
I’ll be giving this a read after work, but if anyone else wants to share their thoughts on the book, go for it!
My two favorite "vehicles" in all of fandom are the Enterprise-D and the BTTF DeLorean. And what do you know, Andrew Probert had a significant hand in designing both, as well as the first updated Enterprise in Star Trek: TMP. Here's a cool interview with Andrew from back in 2001.
