@apps is it possible to subscribe to the timelin of a #Lemmy account (like @startrek with a lot of postings per day) using #Fedilab without having those postings flooding my personal timeline?
I'm worried to flood my personal timeline and on the other hand it is possible to put an instances timeline on a list without directly following it.
I’m pretty well-versed in Star Trek lore, but it’s always nice to get another perspective. After reading the article I had a brain storm. Lucile Ball was [amazingly enough] a big wheel at Desilu and pushed for the second pilot. She must have liked the first one because it dared to have a smart woman in a position of power. I’m sure many other people have had that notion, and I think it’s funny that it took me so long to see the obvious.
Treat the first line of you post as the title. You can see that your whole post, including hashtags, is on one line, and so creates a large messy title over here.
Keep hashtags out of the title as they create links that are messy
The next lines are treated as the body of the post … you can put everything else here including hashtags (which will work well) etc.
If you want to tag anyone else, make sure to tag them after the lemmy community, as lemmy only pays attention to the first tag (which is a measure to prevent spam)
I wrote a little demo of what works here: hachyderm.io/@maegul/110483509521476095
Otherwise … really appreciate the effort to try to bridge these two spaces!

It’s from the early days of Greatest Gen, and references Captain DeSoto of the USS Hood (NCC-1703). DeSoto and the Hood made several appearances in TNG, and Ben and Adam leaned into his chill vibes, theorizing that the Hood would be a great place to work.
It’s also an allusion to the phrase Friend of Dorothy, an older euphemism for LGBT people.
I think it was originally jokingly conceived as a sort of passphrase or shibboleth for fans of the pod to identify each other without revealing their embarrassing enthusiasm to outsiders, e.g.
I love having an entire live TV channel dedicated to re-runs of old Star Trek episodes
Ok so, I have a little Kodi setup which includes a live tv system hooked up to Pluto so I can grab a bunch of channels for free. Turns out, this includes not one, but two whole channels of just Star Trek!
The first one is mostly TNG and the original series, and the other one ("creatively" called More Star Trek) has mainly Voyager and Deep Space Nine. I like these because I don't even have to think about what episode to watch, and can just enjoy some Star Trek!
I used to run a plugin on my Kodi that would make TV-style channels based on the original airing channel, complete with EPG and everything.
However, it wouldn't let you add lists of shows and create channels that way. I never got around to making my version, but perhaps someone else has done the work since then.
