I took her to the vet and found the owner. I also yelled at them for letting their old dog roam. She's a sweet old gal, and she shouldn't be out there. I'll be checking up on her. Thankfully, they're going to still let me see her, even though I chewed them out....
Texas Republicans likely handed over voters to Democrats supporting women’s rights as the 2024 election year dawns near with the recent actions toward strict abortion laws in the state.
I would believe this if this state didn’t immediately re-vote in Greg Abbott and his chucklefuck cronies even after their disgusting laws came into play.
Yes, we do have the reputation of being a “non-voting state”, which mad sucks. And Abbott & Friends aren’t exactly trying to make elections more accessible for their citizens either, because they know that would harm their cause.
And there was that influx of people moving here for the cheap housing, yes. Every time I saw people going on their “DoNt CaLiFoRnIa My TeXaS” rants, I was like “Its…it’s your people moving here from Cali!” And yeah, I truly believe that in 2022, Pudding Fingers and Piss Baby were taking nods from one another, seeing who could up the ante in being more hateful. I do believe a significant number of Conservative people chose Florida as an alternative to Texas.
That being said, I myself am a Texas transplant via Uncle Sam, and I resisted changing my statehood to Texas for years until the 2022 mid-terms where I finally claimed Texas residency, simply so I could vote for Beto. Then again, it was all for naught because I’m a Blue voter in a Blue city, so it doesn’t really help.
I can only hope that we get a huge blue wave of representatives voted inacross the country this coming year. I hope Colin Allred can beat out Ted Cruz for sure. I feel hopeless and jaded, but I’m not 100% cynical yet.
Oh shit yes absolutely! I didn’t mean it to come off as if I’d quit voting, there will definitely be 2 blue votes coming out of the AquaTofana household every single election, we even go to the local ones!
Just…man. I wish our address was in at least one of the purple districts on the edge of the county instead of the solid blue district we’re in right now. I want to spread it out!
I get it. I’m military. Moving is expensive, but beyond that, it’s stressful af. Re establishing routines and relationships in brand new locations sucks, unpacking is tiring, packing is tiring, househunting is tiring, etc etc etc.
But holy shit, I’m gtfoing the second I’m allowed to. Hopefully that’ll be my last move too 😂
Defend Texas Liberty donated $3M to support Dan Patrick’s campaign. Dan Patrick will be deciding what evidence is admissible during Paxton’s trial, as he will be presiding over it. Dan Patrick is also not up for re-election until 2026.
Yup, will tell everyone I know about Curves and not to use them. I already let everyone I know that the Buccee’s CEO donated to Abbotts campaign, so fuck them too.
And now I gotta look up this Monty Bennet guy to see which hotel chains he’s apart of, and avoid staying there as well.
The oil men…meh…they’ve always pieces of shit, so they don’t surprise me.
Edit: Well fuck me. Remington hotels manages 24 brands, including shit like Courtyard by Marriott, LA Quinta, Hilton, Marriott, Residence Inn, Hyatt, Westin, and Sheraton.
Guess I’m searching out independently owned boutiques and true-blue, old-school Bed and Breakfast’s. 😮💨
I have no idea either. I’ll admit that they do keep their bathrooms clean, but so does Love’s, which is usually right across the street from a Buccee’s in my experience.
And since everyone and their brother simply must go to Buccee’s specifically, the bathroom lines and parking lot at Love’s is much more manageable.
Some people like their hot food I guess, but no amount of roast beef will convince me to support a brand that supports Abbott (once I find out about it, I swear I don’t actively go looking for this shit. I just do my research when the opportunity presents itself because we’re in a capitalist society, and if enough people voted with their dollars, shit might change)
Lit. Thanks for the clarification. And the better link!
I think being an informed consumer is hella important for change, so I’m super appreciative for better information. This is good news because the list isn’t as extensive as I thought, since I misunderstood their portfolio.
Definitely favorited your link (so I know which hotels Id like to do my best avoiding) as I travel around Texas! You’re a real one!
