I am deeply humbled and honored to be named the Icon Grand Marshal for the 2024 LA Pride Parade. To be recognized in this way by the LGBTQ+ community, an extraordinary group of individuals who have fought tirelessly for equality, is truly overwhelming. As someone who has witnessed the struggles and triumphs of our community over the years, I am filled with gratitude for the progress we have made and inspired to continue the fight for full acceptance and equality for all.

@rysiek honestly, from what I understand about the 2017 version of Mastodon, this is a pretty solid take.

Mastodon has matured a LOT since then. The federation clearly tripped him up quite a bit, but I took a lot of the article as constructive criticism at worst.

Either way, it's come very far. I still hate "toots", though. That's one of the single worst things about this platform. Can we just come up with a different name???

@atocci @rysiek yeah, "toots" is the official name unfortunately 😅 it just sounds like Mastodon farts to me
