Trump insists on calling Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg "Soros backed" (posting the phrase at least 3x in the last 24 hours).
George Soros did not endorse or contribute to Bragg. By falsely connecting them, Trump is playing into a range of baseless antisemitic conspiracy theories.
@rbreich - Of course the diaper don hollers "Soros!" - the far right has so dang many asset-aristocrat backers that nobody can remember that many names, so they can be fairly anonymous. But there are so few who are at all progressive, that the far right can pick out - and mindlessly rail against - one "supreme bogeyman" without exerting any mental effort whatsoever. As with all their blithering-points, it easily fits on a bumper sticker.
Trump called fallen service members "losers" and "suckers" — according to his chief of staff — he publicly accused soldiers with PTSD of not being "strong," demeaned POWs, and insulted Gold Star parents & a widow. When he pretends to honor service members today, don't believe it.
@rbreich - I think he, like most bullies, reveals nothing about the people whom he tries to demean, but MUCH about his own bleak nature by whom he disparages, and the terms he uses to try to disparage them.
Justice Samuel Alito flew not one, but two pro-insurrection flags at his homes.
Alito not being forced to recuse from Trump's immunity case and upcoming Jan 6 cases tells you everything you need to know about the SCOTUS code of "ethics" established last year.
