Liberal application of wood glue to all mating surfaces. Then clamp in place and let cure.

The cured wood glue will be stronger than the particle board the drawer is made from.

You’ll also definitely want the thickest consistency.

So be sure to ask for thick black caulk.

I’ve seen recommendations anywhere from 4" to 12".

But at the very absolute minimum, they should never be able to touch.

Remove the load, square it up, and attach 2x4s like this on both sides. It will help a lot and you won’t lose any used space.

Bonus points if you fasten it to both horizontal struts.
