Overnight Donald Trump promoted a video featuring an extreme close-up photo of his face in black and white, and audio of him making an obvious threat: “If you f— around with us, if you do something bad to us, we are going to do things to you that have never been done before.” Trump “retruthed” […]
I've got a neighbor whose cat is veritable feline Houdini... he gets out every so often. And usually, it's to come over to my green house and steal carrots. (yeah, don't ask. he doesn't eat them. doesn't take them home. We have no idea what he does with them.)
Don't ask questions. just embrace it. (I've gotten to catsit Sykes on a few occasions now. the old man is a blast.)
there's also nothing saying that a (state) prison has to let their inmate go. or have internet access. or be allowed to, you know, run a government from their cell. There are some things saying that if the president is incapable, the vice president steps up.
it's a big unknown grayzone, but the party of State's Rights will be in a very amusing position if this should become a thing. (I doubt it will. he lost in 2020, and his support has only diminished.)
Several Republican representatives have proposed amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act to try to stop the Pentagon’s electrification. The proposals sound so mind-bogglingly dumb that they look like they were written by 19th-century Luddites or the fossil fuel industry itself....
CFRis actually not the best for ballistic protection. Chances are they will go with a composite based off chobbam armor. (Which may or may not be CF-reinforced ceramics,)
Yeah. They’re QC sucks. With all manner of defects like hoods flopping up on the highway, weather stripping literally just falling off, gaps in the interior. (And all sorts of other recalls.)
It doesn’t help that every thing is over engineered and prone to breaking in the first place.

He’s not buying votes per say. He just needs a certain number of donations. This definitely violates straw donor rules, in ways that look really bad for GOP. “You had to buy your way here” is never a good look.
Especially because I’m sure we’ll find they’re all doing something like it

Ironically, as he pointed out repeatedly during the six-hour hearing Wednesday, Wray is a lifelong Republican and member of the right-wing Federalist Society. He was also appointed to his post in 2017 by then-president Donald Trump.
“I hope you don’t change your party affiliation after this hearing is over,” Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) joked at one point.
I hope at a certain point the notion crosses his mind. Something about "are they really serving you" floats around in my mind. (and no, being served on platter is not what I mean.)
Donald Trump’s main defense when it comes to his indictment for shocking and dangerous mishandling of highly classified documents so far seems to be that the Presidential Records Act says he did nothing wrong. The only problem is that Trump is claiming that the Act means the opposite of what it says, and after years of...

I really hate people saying invoking the 14th for his insurrection is unprecedented like the act itself is the problem.
It’s also unprecedented that we have a political candidate that tried to overturn the last election by force of violence (you know, an actual bonafide insurrection).
THAT is the problem- and it’s an unprecedented problem. The 14th established the precedent, and no, trump IS guilty and we all know it- “innocent until proven guilty” is a legal assumption designed to ensure due process and the protection of civil liberties. It is an assumption and not a statement of fact.
I certainly don’t wish to exclude anyone on language- I won’t freak out over it…But on the other hand wonder how it is that Google translate hasn’t started ww3 yet.
I do feel like people might be better served more broadly if languages are split off, but also like maybe this is something that shouldn’t be dealt with until it needs dealing with .
localization
As somebody from the US, I feel that I gain more with more globalized political discourse, though I suspect we’ll run rough shod over the others- and they again may be better served with dedicated mags for their particular location.
Again, feel as though this might be a better issue to revisit as it becomes a problem.
consequences
I’m a firm believer that consequences should fit the actions, somebody posting a funny and not particularly offensive meme should maybe get a warning or a take down or whatever.
Somebody posting hate speech (anything expressed as “no tolerance” to be honest”) should absolutely not have any tolerance.

Is there a reason we can’t try them? I dunno. Maybe it will be useful, maybe not.
