Why wait for Microsoft to catch up with what we've been doing for decades?
Get Plasma, a modern, fully functional, clean, privacy-respecting, non-intrusive operating system now, regardless from where you live and ditch Windows for good.
The telemetry is transparent, you literally know everything that gets sent. You don’t even have to read the source code, it deadass tells you. Unlike Windows.
Slippery slope my ass.
You really think a community driven project such as KDE would be allowed to add invasive telemetry? The same community that would rather hard fork audacity the deal with their bs? KDE is not muse group or canonical, it’s just not going to happen and it hasn’t happened over the 3y period since that brain dead Reddit post.
Let me preface this with I was reinstalling my Arch system when Linux 6.6.1 killed the computer’s boot cycle. (Dell Optiplex 990 i7) system. Anyway, I needed to get this back up and running and since I couldn’t even get it to boot, I did a reinstall relying on my backups and on the Linux LTS for now. I am an early adopter...
If you look at the KDE-Unstable Arch Repo you’ll notice that only 4 packages are compiled to Plasma 6 Alpha-1. If you want to test Alpha 1, you’re better off using the kde neon unstable ISO in a Live Environment or VM.
tried plasma a year back and gave up because I couldn’t get the above setup to work (annoying lines appearing while typing) on three different laptops (125, 133, 150%). there was supposedly a fix (increasing line spacing) but that didn’t work for me. just checking in to see if some workaround came to light? thanks.
This is patched afaik, but if you find that it’s still happening you should open a BR.
You don’t have to use konsole, imo konsole is not the best Terminal out there.
This One? if you look at the bottom you can see a plethora of patches. Still, if it’s continuing to be a problem for you, you must report it with the appropriate information if you want it to get patched.
This bug clearly doesn’t effect that many users, and some have reported it’s fixed for them.
So it’s important you make some noise.
Invariably, when I try to install themes, or anything from Plasma’s menu’s I get the following error, If I’m lucky, I get get a few pages in, other times it’s right off the bat like this time. Is this due to an overwhelming of the servers or something else?
