I laughed when the original pan advertised being able to hit 60 mph. I remember the push to get it to Ballard back in the early 2000s. I knew it would not be going anywhere.
Honestly, I doubt those affect things very much. I think I have seen decent stuff maybe once or if every 20 times I walk by a little free library. I am generally looking for a specific book when going to the library or getting an ebook from there.
Yeah, what the fuck? The person was only looking to run people over but failed so might as well give up going after him? I'm surprised they didn't find him to try and give him a job.
The tentative contract, which runs through the end of 2023, is dated retroactively to January 6, 2021—the day of the national insurrection and attempted takeover of Congress by rioters attempting to overturn the election for Trump.
@ercicacbarnett on Twitter has a screenshot of it but Twitter does not sort chronologically for non users anymore so I can’t easily link it. So I’ll type out the important parts of the screenshot.
Article 6 - Salaries
6.1 Salaries shall be in accordance with the following schedule:
A. Effective December 31 January 6 2014 2021, the base wage rates…
So they amended the previous version to be starting on January 6th, 2021.
Gov. Jay Inslee signed the bill to hasten Puget Sound Energy’s shift from natural gas to clean energy. Critics contend it will lead to higher energy bills for ratepayers.
SCL seems to be fine not using fossil fuels and maintaining a cheap rate. Shouldn’t a private company like PSE be more efficient? Or are the coal mines they own not so profitable?
Inslee should announce a plan to ease PSE’s concerns of higher cost to their customers by offering major discounts on solar panels for those affected. I’m sure PSE would be happy with a plan like that considering how concerned they are for their customers.
Maintenance claimed they thought it was a false alarm. If you do not investigate it and just keep turning it off, there is no way you can legitimately claim that you thought it was a false alarm. The only way you can do that is if you actually test and find it was a false alarm.
That seems a bit pricey considering you still need a few items. I’ve had a QOTOM for quite a while that has served me well. Looks like they have Intel four 2.5 Gb ports with an N100 for pretty cheap.
Throw a stick of RAM and an m.2 drive in there and it would be cheaper and more capable than the Banana Pi. You could even throw Proxmox on there and virtualize pfsense.
In a recent column about riding the empty ghost trams of Seattle’s streetcar, I noted that the one in South Lake Union is costing taxpayers more than $20 per ride. I cracked: “It would have been cheaper for the city to pay for me to hire an Uber.”...
Temperatures fell to 14 degrees overnight in Seattle, ushering in a bleak and biting chill the city hasn’t seen for over a decade. Temperatures are unlikely to surpass a high of 25 degrees Saturday as a blanket of clouds settles over the city....
We lost power here in south sesame and had to head over to my sister in law’s place in Renton. The power was initially annoying because it would go out for a split second and then come right back on. That went on for a couple hours then it finally went out for about four hours.
There were a couple patches of ice but thankfully nothing too slick. Traffic was sheepishly light. SCL had a good estimate up pretty quick (which they beat) so I’m guessing a bunch of people either bundled up or went shopping close by for a few hours.
Wish it was doable for me. I kind of laughed at the door to door salesmen for suggesting my roof would be good for it. I have a South facing roof but there is also a 60 year fir tree next door that shades damn near all of the roof. I humored them and had one of their guys schedule an appointment for a quote. It was cheaper than I figured (only about $10k) but it would only cover about 20% of my energy usage and would take about 17 years to pay back with the assumption that SCL will be raising rates by 4% each year. I honestly do not even recall the last price hike. Yeah, it sucks that there will be a 10% jump in cost but considering how rare those hikes are compared to PSE, I’ll take it.
On the news it mentioned he had taken hallucinogenic mushrooms two days before he did this. Not sure why they mentioned that since mushrooms don’t last anywhere near that long.
It kind of seems like he had a mental breakdown and there was no intention. He took mushrooms because of major depression he had recently. He told people on the flight that he needed to be restrained. From another article:
After “peacefully walking to the back of the plane,” the affidavit says Emerson told a flight attendant, “You need to cuff me right now or it’s going to be bad.”
