Mod Easy: A retro e-bike with a sidecar perfect for Indiana Jones cosplay

It's not the most practical option for passengers, but my son had a blast.

Russia and China are using OpenAI tools to spread disinformation

Iran and Israel have been getting in on the action as well.

Given the incredible history of the US and CIA in spreading dis info after WWII
the US is hardly in a position to complain

eg
"Yellow Rain"

Google’s “AI Overview” can give false, misleading, and dangerous answers

From glue-on-pizza recipes to recommending "blinker fluid," Google's AI sourcing needs work.

there is something sort of pathetic in how the tech world, at least here on feels compelled to reduce AI to crypto scam status

meanwhile, in the real world, AI is doing insanely great stuff:

Anti-pasteurization crowd reaffirms love of raw milk despite bird flu outbreak

Raw milk fans called warnings "fear mongering," despite 52% fatality rate in humans.

that 52% fatality rate is true, but it is also possibly a total bullshit number

why ?
Infection of humans with H5N1 is is *incredibly *amazingly RARE and UNCOMMON

so it is possible that the tiny tiny number of people who do get infected are un usual in some way - perhaps, due to bad luck, they have an immune system that can't fight this particular bug

Why wait for Microsoft to catch up with what we've been doing for decades?

Get Plasma, a modern, fully functional, clean, privacy-respecting, non-intrusive operating system now, regardless from where you live and ditch Windows for good.

It is quite possible that my memory is from the slashdot era of comments like

"I put Linux on my laptop and then the wireless didn't work and it took me 3 hours on the help forum . ."
