I live in an area with the exact opposite issue (my battery MELTED) so I'm probably wrong, but isn't that what the battery blankets they try to sell you on when you buy an EV is for?
While my sentence could be worded more clearly, that's a pretty bad reading of what I said.
My car is valued by KBB at ~6k in it's current state.
That current state includes a battery that was replaced under warranty 6 months ago, and is thus basically a brand-new battery, 9 years left on its warranty and everything.
So if something goes wrong with the battery and it isn't directly your fault: it gets replaced for free. The only 6k being spent is the original 6k on the car as a whole
Nah it's all good, I know sarcasm is difficult on the Internet, I just always pray I've found a way to be obvious and inevitably eat downvotes sometimes.
It's because of the name and history of fighting for women. The movement should have gone for "egalitarianism" if they didn't want people to think of women first/exclusively.
It's why I've vehemently rejected the label of feminist even when I'm in feminist spaces with feminist friends: I'm here for everyone, there's a word for that, use it.
Except movements are often named after the oppressed group
That's nice, but I don't care. Doing things in a stupid way because "that's how we've always done it" is literally conservativism, which I'm not really for.
This thread originates from a comment surprised that people would look at a gendered term and assume actions done in that name are for said gender, this should be an obvious and predictable outcome, one that's been seen countless times, and has a simple and easy fix
My wife and mys manager when we worked at the same place once told each of us separately in out reviews:
You do great, I love that you finish your work early, but the other people in the office dont like that you go home AT 5 (9 hour shift w/ 30m lunch) because they stay an extra 2-4 hours regularly.
Said it to me first, I just told her it sounds like her salary (I was hourly) employees suck at their jobs. She just kinda stares at me (this is the exact bluntness she promoted me to working with her for so...)
When she said it to my wife SHE went off on one about how she used to do those other people's jobs and that it's ridiculous that they can't do it in the same amount of time and would dare demand that she stay extra time just to appease their incompetence
She straight up admitted to us all the 40-60 year olds just didnt like that we could do our jobs and go home because we could type faster than 12 WPM
They’re built into the truck and my understanding of their purpose is to give the driver a visual of that area as it’s right under their passenger mirror
When I had to move a rig around a yard I’d use it to help judge distance to a nearby wall, for example
