hanke OP ,

I set the exposure time to 6 seconds and used a very small aperture. The ambulance being too dark and also moving too much makes it not “stick” on the photo. But the flashing blue lights stick despite moving because they emit a lot of light. You can also see the people in the background were not completely still, so they are all blurry.

hanke OP ,

I put the camera on a wooden structure by the road so it would stay still 😄 Thank you, I’m glad you liked it!

hanke OP ,

I was standing there to take these photos (photo 1, photo 2) and the ambulance just happened to pass by when I had all the settings ready for this type of shot. It was all just good luck and timing 😄

Thank you! I’m glad you liked it! :)

Sweden!

hanke OP ,

I’m glad you liked it! This photo was taken in Gothenburg, Sweden. The cranes are characteristic of this city. While they used to be in use, they are now kept as a reminder of the city’s history and culture.

Here is a link to the crane on Google Maps: link to crane on gMaps

The photo was shot from the commuting ferry terminal ‘Stenpiren’ on the other side of the water.

hanke OP ,

It’s pretty easy as long as you have some patiance!

I saw them shake off some water after having dipped themselves i the pond, so set the shutter to about 1/1200 and waited.

When they finally did something I had to be quick and sure to already have the focus ready 😄

Hol’ up…

How did you know this was in Oslo? Or was it just a strange coincidence? This is on the roof of the Oslo opera building.

hanke OP ,

Aha, cool. You’ve got a sharp pair of eyes!

hanke OP ,

I will take that as a compliment, but I have no idéa what it means

hanke OP ,

Aha, as in neato. A true spooktober connoisseur.

hanke OP ,

Oh, I see

hanke OP ,

Thank you! The story behind the photo is way less interesting than it might seem. If you want to ruin the magic for yourself I added a spoiler element to this comment that you can expand if you really want to know where and how I got this shot.

Explanation/SpoilerThis photo was taken at the amusement park where I live which has been temporarily Halloween themed. The character in the shot is an actor in a costume employed by the park. In the un-cropped version attached below you can see other park visitors and the entrance to the toilets. https://feddit.nu/pictrs/image/6b7e1038-fa8b-46ea-9d24-f080e9eee70d.jpeg

hanke OP ,

My best guess would be that it has something to do with the lighting.

I assure you that it is not AI though

hanke OP ,

It is taken at 1/400 shutter speed, f/14, 400 ISO

Also it was a very bright day. So there was a lot of light

hanke OP ,

I was in a public area of the park, but climbed some stones in the edge of the allowed area to get this angle.

I am using a 50mm full frame lens on a crop sensor camera body, so effectively 75mm focal length.

hanke OP ,

I felt the same when I saw it. It really stood out and told a story. I hope so as well.
