julianh , to LinkedinLunatics in A good leader always farts first 💨

I mean I kind of get the metaphor and appreciate the idea of being the kind of leader that people can feel comfortable around, but there's got to be better ways of expressing that.

But like, they can still track you. And removing the badge that lets them track you is basically a crime. Also section 31 exists basically just to track and monitor people.

A lot of times people who spread hate benefit from the attention they get, positive or negative. I censored it because of that, not to protect them.

julianh , to Star Trek in The surprisingly robust careers of Star Trek stars who became video game voice actors

Ensign Ro and old Jake are both in Half-Life 2, those voices are ingrained in my memory so I instantly recognized them when i watched the show.

Oh nice, I didn’t know. I should probably check it out at some point.

I haven’t been too into the new shows but it feels like a lot of humor focused stuff. I like lower decks, but I’ve heard snw is also pretty light and now this… I know Picard exists but with that over I feel like something else needs to balance it out.

julianh , to Star Trek in Alright, where do I begin?

The original series or next generation depending on your taste. Although be warned that TNG’s first season is rough, so if you’re not committed to watching everything, maybe pick a few episodes to try first.

Personally I watched through the entirety of TNG and then moved on to DS9, and I really enjoyed both shows. DS9 is also a direct follow up to TNG in a few ways so they make a good pair. I wouldn’t recommend watching DS9 first though since it’s so different from “normal” star trek.

julianh , to Star Trek in Fans reacting to the announcement of Star Trek: The Next Generation

It’s always funny looking back at stuff like this. I remember looking at old articles about Catherine Tate becoming a companion in doctor who and people were furious - and in retrospect not only was she one of the best companions, but that was probably the greatest era of the show.

julianh , to Star Trek in I made an (updated) site to see which shows have the most Star Trek actor overlaps, can you find them all?

I love how Jeffery Combs alone is second place for number of connections.
