The Supreme Court decides, in effect, there will be no Trump trial before the election https://robertreich.substack.com/p/the-supreme-court-decides-in-effect?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon

They had no choice. If the US president isn't immune from "official actions" then biden would be pursued for enabling genocide.

Bush for the insane destruction of Iraq. And Afghanistan.

The CIA's bloody history in almost every country on this planet. From Chile to Iran, from Nicaragua to the coup attempt in Turkey (remember that?).

The FBI's involvement in trying to neutralise the civil rights movement.

And on and on ... going back decades.

The number one thing we should still be discussing from the debate is that Trump refused to rule out another January 6 attack.

that,

and genocide.

The Biden FTC is on a roll.

It banned noncompete clauses.

It blocked the Kroger/Albertsons merger that would send grocery bills skyrocketing.

Now it's taking action against Adobe for allegedly trapping users in pricey subscriptions.

This is government working for the people.

Sounds nice.

Shame about the genocide.

"Americans love a strong leader. Donald Trump scores high with many voters precisely because he acts like a despotic strongman, seemingly unrestrained by rules, laws, international agreements, or even social conventions. By contrast, Joe Biden is a competent and cool executive, leading an administration that adheres to established norms, operates by consultation, and follows the data-driven advice of experts." But what does it mean that Biden is now showing a tougher side? Jay Kuo digs into this question in last week's piece from The Big Picture. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/biden-tough-israel-russia-border

Just 57.

Joe Biden is getting tougher. Whether it's on the border, Russia, Israel or with the press, the President is taking a more aggressive stance. The question remains: will it help move the needle ahead of November's election? Writer Jay Kuo digs into this crucial question in a brand new piece from The Big Picture. https://thinkbigpicture.substack.com/p/biden-tough-israel-russia-border

Whilst I agree with you on many many things, I have to disagree on Israel.

Biden continues to:

  1. Attack the ICC and ICJ.

  2. Send weapons, intelligence to Israel.

  3. Send money to Israel.

  4. Shields Israel from UN resolutions.

  5. Slander peace activists and those against genocide as violent or antisemitic.

  6. Gaslight us on the scale of intentional devastation and human harm.

What many feel he has done is act as minimally as possible to try to get back some lost votes.

Lately under Biden, the DOT regulated airline fees. The CFPB capped credit card fees. The DOL strengthened OT rules. Medicare is negotiating drug prices. The FTC banned noncompetes. Meanwhile, Trump is on trial, posting Nazi imagery, and talking about outlawing birth control.

@rbreich

The Biden administration is threatening the ICC and ICJ.

It continues to supply money, weapons and intelligence to Israel's genocide.

It continues to provide diplomatic cover to that genocide and 75 years of injustice

Biden needs to suffer democratically.

Lack of affordable childcare forces working moms to take unpaid time off & pass up good jobs, costing the average working mom of two ~$94,000 in lost income over their career.

Republicans (and Manchin & Sinema) have repeatedly blocked investments in childcare. Do they hate moms?

Trump set the overtime pay threshold at a disgraceful $35,500 per year. Biden just raised it to $58,600.

Biden banned noncompete agreements. A plaintiff trying to reverse the ban is a Trump tax adviser.

Biden is fighting for workers. Trump wants to tear them down.
