abba2566 , to Star Trek in Yeoh's S31 movie preproduction complete?

Most likely means that the pre-production, writing, location scouting, set/prop design etc. and key crew have likely been confirmed and that when the strike ends, they’ll be able to move to shooting pretty fast depending on if they’ve confirmed the rest of the cast before the strikes (I assume actors aren’t meant to audition for parts whilst striking.)

IDIC … there are many of us who are keen to see where she went after she walked back through the Guardian of Forever’s time portal in Discovery S3.

This is like the least aniticipated Trek for me personally. Its probably unpopular to say this, but I didn’t like her in Discovery and especially as the mirror universe character she just got really boring.

mercano , to Star Trek in ‘Dovercourt’ (likely S31 movie) moves up to ‘Preproduction’ in the DGC Ontario hotlist - more details

I guess if they already have a script, they’re past the WGA strike and can work on it till they hit the SAG strike. (I’m assuming the strikes impact Canadian productions on behalf of US studios?)

Yes, American productions in Canada have US writers and actors under WGA and SAG-AFTRA contracts.

Local Canadian actors belong to ACTRA, the Canadian guild. The production and art creatives are in another union IATSE.

DGC is a sister organization to the Directors Guild of America (DGA). Their accredited members can work in either country. DGC is likely now sanctioning the work since DGA has settled in the United States.
