The D’s saucer is an oval, wider than it is long (“the fat one”). Voyager’s saucer is long pointy, kind of shaped like a spoon.

George Takei killed it in his role in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. (Literally and figuratively, he played a hitman-come-mob boss and a father figure to the game’s protagonist.) I wish he had more screen time in the role.

It’s got those extra powerful warp coils up front, with taller grills on the nacelles, so they don’t need to extend that far forward.

They did create an armored Voyager model for later in the episode. I’m guessing they decided not to use it in the opening shot to save it as a surprise for later.

The new busy intro was introduced in season 4, with “The Way of the Warrior.” They’re probably repairing battle damage or adding armor.

I guess if they already have a script, they’re past the WGA strike and can work on it till they hit the SAG strike. (I’m assuming the strikes impact Canadian productions on behalf of US studios?)
